About Us

Michael Broughton is founder and president of Michael J. Broughton, CPA, P.C.
He has over sixteen years of diverse financial management experience and a broad business background that includes information systems, mergers and acquisitions, SEC reporting, and planning. He specializes in providing leadership to organizations in transition.

Prior to starting his own firm, he served in the audit department of Alumax, a subsidiary of Alcoa. In that capacity, he gained additional SEC, manufacturing, cost accounting and supervisory experience. Before joining Alumax, he was a staff accountant in the audit department with KPMG, a Big 4 accounting firm. He managed numerous engagements for a wide variety of clients with an emphasis on insurance, technology and banking.

Michael graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a concentration in Accountancy. He is CPA licensed in the state of Georgia. He is a member of The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Michael currently serves on the boards of directors for the Starlight Children’s Foundation of Atlanta, MedCare Staffing, Inc. and West Park Properties.
